Committee Duties

This committee of Classis is responsible for conducting the business of the Classis between stated sessions.  According to Classis bylaws, our purview is covered in the Rules of Order Article VI, Section 4:

            The Overtures and Judicial Business Committee shall:

consider all matters of doctrine, matters of a judicial nature such as references, grievances, complaints, and appeals, and shall consider and prepare all overtures to General Synod.

• Policy and Procedures in Cases of Clergy Sexual Misconduct: review and approve Draft 3  for presentation to Classis.  Note changes concerning restitution to churches of monies accepted under false pretense.
